RESEARCH INTEREST
- Current research interests emphasis on the detection and molecular characterization of begomoviral disease epidemics in Pakistan and developing novel technologies for their control. The research ranges from using the sequencing technologies to determine genome and transcriptome data for the begomoviruses, to developing robust, low-cost diagnostic technologies for such plant viruses which appear to be driving the spread of epidemics.
- The development and use of Infectious clones to find the host range and new plant species which serve to be an alternative host of begomoviruses.
- Along with, the focus is on the production of antibodies for the rapid detection of begomoviruses.
- To find out mechanism of Virus-host and Virus-vector interaction
