Research Interests

My main research interest is in emotions and emotions management. I am fascinated by the performativity theory that describes emotions as a 'performance' in everyday mundane interactions. In my work, I have used Erving Goffman's (1959) performance theory and Hochschild (1979. 1983) emotion management theory to understand board dynamics and the politics of emotions in boards. I am also interested in gender, equality and inclusion at workplace mainly in patriarchal societies. I aim to explore how patriarchal (re)shapes our experience at work. I have also worked on internally displaced persons with a focus on the way people find ways to become resilient through entrepreneurship. 

I have a particular interest in qualitative research methods (ethnography, autoethnography and narratives).
