About Department


The Environmental Sciences program was initiated in 2017 as an integrated program designed to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the environment-related courses in environmental problems, sustainable environmental management, ecology, geology, environment impact assessment, hydrology, and more. The program focuses to pioneer a new generation of research and teaching methods that understand the environmental issues such as waste disposal, climate change, water resource management, environmental impacts of pollution, responsible extraction of earth resources, ecotourism, renewable energy, sanitation, and public health. To understand the solution of these environmental issues, the graduates will be playing a critical role in coordinating multidisciplinary input to assure successful deployment that is necessary for meeting emerging environmental challenges in Pakistan, throughout the region, and around the globe.

Our faculty members are working in many specialized fields of Environmental Sciences such as Environmental Biology, Ecology, GIS and Remote Sensing, Solid Waste Management, Climate Change, Drought and Flood Modelling, and Water Science.

During a short period, the department has completed many research projects with the support of national & international funding organizations & several research projects are in progress.

The department is planning to establish research laboratories on Water Quality, Solid Waste Management, and GIS and Remote Sensing, that will help to provide a variety of services to the local community and will build a base for our department at the national & international level for research.
