QEC Introduction

There is quite close relations between prosperity of nation and Quality of Education. To provide the Higher Education in Pakistan for global identity and to bring the country in the list of frontline competitors, there is need to assess its institutions, universities with the Global perspectives .To achieve the task Quality Assurance (QAA) has framed some procedures to highlight the Research and Development .Such procedure must be adopted to take into account the diversity of situation and the academic culture in Pakistan. To enhance the quality of education at higher education level there is need for the capacity building of faculty members to make them able to play the main role to find out the areas of improvement .For the said purpose Quality Assurance has established Quality Enhancement Cells in Thirty Public Sector Universities. Kohat University of Science & Technology is among these public sector Universities. Quality Assurance Agency Higher Education Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) in Kohat University was established in August 2006 but became functional in April 2007.

The Mission, Vision and goals of the Quality Enhancement Cell – QEC of Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST) as per the guidelines of the Quality Assurance Agency (Q.A.A) - HEC are;


Mission:

To bring a constant and sustainable change in the quality of education and produce graduates capable of contributing towards the development of region and act as agent of change. To integrate the concept of quality enhancement in higher learning with enhanced levels of international compatibility through capacity building.


Vision Statement:

Developing a viable and sustainable mechanism of quality assurance in higher learning sector to meet the rising challenges of transforming the country into knowledge based economy.

Goals:

QEC will mainly focus on the following areas and will bring the quality of higher education at par with international standards.
