Department of Physics

At the Department of Physics, our students are part of the family.  Studying here, you will have access to our lab facilities and resources and, most importantly, our dedicated & well qualified staff/faculty. We offer a range of undergraduate (BS, MSc) and postgraduate (M.Phil. & PhD) options.
Current Research activities in the Department is focused into following Research Areas:

• Laser Plasma Interaction (Dr. Fida Younus Khattak)
• String Theory & Particle Physics (Dr. Rashid Ahmad)
• Astrophysics/Computational Physics (Dr. Muhammad Sajjad)

Our vision for the Department of Physics is to become a leading center of producing creative and productive physicists who would not only play a key role in the socio-economic and technological uplift of Pakistan but would also make their presence felt in the international scientific community.

Mission Statement:

The Department of Physics will work with missionary zeal to impart technical skills to its undergraduate and graduate students and mould them into creative thinkers with problem solving aptitude and initiatives to meet the technological challenges of the modern world. Our graduates will be able to undertake independent scientific research of international standards and produce useful scientific knowledge that will enjoy worldwide recognition.
