History

Institute of Information Technology (IIT) bears a distinction of being the pioneer department of Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST).It was established in September 2001 offering 4 years Honors degree programs in Computer Science & Information Technology. Taking a start with scarce resources of 4 rooms, 48 computers, one lab & 6 faculty members, IIT has evolved into the most prolific departments of KUST with over 700 enrolled students, 4 computer labs equipped with 180 P-4 systems & 22 highly skilled faculty members with MS and MSc qualifications. IT strongly adheres to the Computer-Based Training (CBT) & provides multimedia & OHP facilities in classrooms. IT offers wide range of degree courses including 4 years undergraduate programs with specialization in CS, IT, NT & SE, 2 years conversion programs in CS & IT (i.e. MCS & MIT) and two years MS program in CS.
